When should children visit the dentist?
Children need to see a dentist once they have their baby teeth, usually between three months and a year
Bringing your child to the dentist from a young age helps them to get use to the dentist and the surroundings. It is vital to see children regularly as there are preventive treatments available to help limit any decay. The dentist will also be able to give the parents brushing and diet advice.
Usually when children attend the dentist they are not keen for the dentist to have a look in their mouth, but over time and with regular visits we can build the child’s confidence and they will be happy to sit on the chair and allow the dentist to have a look.
